September 15 doesn't really seem like an important day to anyone. It's after Labor Day, before Halloween. It really doesn't sound special at all. But let me tell you, it is a big big day for accountants. Why you ask? Well, September 15 is exactly 6 months after March 15, which is when corporate tax returns are due. Instead of actually filing these tax returns though, companies file tax extensions, so they don't actually have to file them until 6 months later. On September 15. So basically, today is a big day, and I'm so glad it's here and finally leaving. Good riddance, 9/15. Bye!
